Math Development Teacher

General Description

The Math Learning Development Teacher is an instructional support role dedicated to assisting students across all grade levels (Grades 1–12) in developing core mathematical skills and concepts. This role focuses on targeted intervention, enrichment, and resource development to enhance student achievement within the American curriculum framework. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with classroom teachers and academic administrators.

Responsibilities

Required Focus:

The teacher will lead a small group and provide one-on-one support for students in Mathematics across the Elementary, Middle, and High School levels (Grades 1–12).

Responsibilities

• Conduct targeted small group and one-on-one intervention sessions for struggling math students.
• Assist classroom teachers in differentiating activities and materials for various student needs.
• Support in-class learning by co-teaching or observing, and providing immediate feedback.
• Substitute classes as necessary, utilizing strong subject matter expertise.
• Develop or locate appropriate resources and materials for math intervention and practice.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and outcomes from intervention sessions.
• Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers to ensure intervention goals align with core curriculum goals.
• Attends all required school training, seminars, activities, and meetings.
• Perform administrative duties related to the Learning Support Department as required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year proven experience teaching or tutoring Mathematics (K-12).
• Language: First language/native fluency in English
• Technology: Proficient in using Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with various international or U.S. Math curricula (e.g., Common Core).
• Training in specialized learning needs or intervention strategies.
• A full teaching certification (e.g., B.Ed., PGCE, or U.S. State License) is a bonus.

Mandatory Screening

• Provide three (3) professional referee contacts (including your current Supervisor. All referees will be contacted.
• A teaching demonstration may be required.
