Music & Art Teacher (Elementary to Secondary)

General Description
NIVA American International School is seeking a talented and versatile Music & Art Teacher to serve students across our Elementary and Secondary School divisions. This combined position requires strength in both disciplines. The ideal candidate is an accomplished musician with strong accompaniment and choral direction skills, as well as a visual artist capable of teaching a broad range of studio-based art courses.
At NIVA, the arts are an important part of school life. We seek an educator who brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a commitment to helping students develop both technical skills and artistic confidence.
Responsibilities
Music
- Plan and deliver engaging music instruction across Elementary and Secondary School levels
- Serve as staff accompanist for school performances, ceremonies, and special events
- Lead and develop the school's choir program
- Teach guitar as part of the music curriculum; violin experience is an advantage
- Integrate music theory, performance, and appreciation into classroom instruction
Art
- Plan and deliver visual arts instruction across Elementary and Secondary School levels
- Teach drawing, painting, and mixed-media art techniques
- Guide students in developing creativity, technical skill, and artistic expression
- Support student exhibitions, displays, and other arts-related events
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leaders to support student learning
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians
- Participate fully in school activities, meetings, and professional development
Qualifications
Music
- Strong piano proficiency, including accompaniment for rehearsals and performances
- Experience directing or supporting a choir program
- Ability to teach guitar; violin experience is preferred but not required
- Broad musical literacy across a range of styles and age levels
Visual Art
- Demonstrated skill in drawing, painting, and mixed-media art
- Ability to teach students across multiple grade levels
- Portfolio of personal artistic work is encouraged
General
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Fine Arts, Arts Education, or a related field
- Minimum of two years full-time teaching experience; experience in an American curriculum preferred
- American English proficiency required
- Eligible and willing to obtain a Thai Teaching License
